IIVS maintains DEA Schedule I certification and is able to evaluate test materials containing controlled substances such as Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Our flexible testing panel consists of exposure of reconstructed human airway tissues to the sample aerosol and evaluation of several markers of toxicity including: viability, cytotoxicity, ciliary activity, and barrier integrity at 2 post-exposure time points (typically up to 72 hours) in triplicate tissues. Positive and negative controls are included and the panel can be customized to clients’ specific needs. A panel involving inflammatory response assessment is available as an additional option.
