In August 2026 EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs announced a NAM approach to assess the acute oral hazard of pesticides. EPA has concluded that the GHS mixtures equation can identify low acute oral toxicity pesticide formulations and will cover points for stakeholders to consider when submitting the GHS mixtures prediction to support the acute oral toxicity classification for pesticide registration.

Following an overview of EPA’s newly published guidance on the use of the GHS Mixtures Equation for acute oral toxicity, Kathryn Page (The Clorox Company) will present real-world case studies demonstrating how this approach can be applied in regulatory submissions. The session will highlight practical considerations, common challenges, and lessons learned from industry experience, helping attendees understand how the guidance can be used to support efficient registrations while reducing reliance on animal testing.
