Registration Open for ASCCT Annual Meeting

Registration is now open for the 6th annual ASCCT meeting. The meeting will be held Sept. 21-22 at IIVS in Gaithersburg, MD. The meeting will focus on two key areas: replacing in vivo tests for acute systemic toxicity endpoints and LSCA implementation to reduce and replace animal testing. Abstracts are now being accepted. Awards of VITROCELL In Vitro Inhalation Exposure Systems

The PETA International Science Consortium (PISC) awarded four VITROCELL in vitro exposure systems to researchers from institutions in the UK, US, and Belgium who are leading the development of non-animal methods to test the toxicity of airborne substances. IIVS is grateful to PISC for donating the VITROCELL System for use in its new respiratory toxicology laboratory. 2017 LUSH Prize Nominations Open

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2017 Lush Prize.  The annual prize rewards initiatives across science and campaigning that work to end or replace animal testing, particularly in the area of toxicology research. New Centre puts UWindsor at the Canadian Forefront of Alternatives to Animal Testing

The Canadian University of Windsor announces the opening of the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods , the first of its kind in the country. House Considers Bill to Ban Cosmetic Animal Testing

A bill has been reintroduced in the US House of Representatives that would ban cosmetic animal testing and prohibit the sale of products tested on animals. The Humane Cosmetics Act (HR 2790) – like a similar measure considered in the last session of Congress – was introduced with broad bipartisan support. Read more....
